Job summary

Stealth Startup in Akron, Ohio, seeks an Electrical Engineer to design and implement electrical and electro‑mechanical systems. You will work with a multi-disciplinary team to create plans, calculations, and technical reports supporting new and existing products.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Engineering with 3+ years of electrical engineering experience, AutoCAD expertise, and PLM/PDM familiarity. Onsite work and close collaboration with engineering teams are essential to success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field required.
• 3 years of full-time Electrical Engineering experience.
• 3–5 years of related experience preferred.
• Experience with AutoCAD for electrical systems design.
• Professional experience with PLM/PDM software (or similar).
• Electrical enclosure layouts and layout design experience.
• Experience with engineering project management tools.
• Strong computer skills and proficiency with MS Office.
• Strong attention to detail and quality orientation.

Responsibilities

• Design power systems, including variable frequency drives (VFDs).
• Create 2D CAD designs for electrical systems (AutoCAD preferred).
• Collaborate with mechanical engineers to develop 3D electrical enclosure layouts.
• Provide technical direction to designers and technicians.
• Use PDM/PLM for revision control and BOM management (SAP experience preferred).
• Select electrical components and support panel wiring.
• Work with RS232/RS422/RS485, CAN bus, LVDS, and Ethernet data buses.

Position Summary

The Electrical Engineer will assist in the design, development, implementation, and analysis of electrical and electro-mechanical systems and technical processes.

This position works closely with a team of engineers, designers, and technicians to prepare plans, designs, calculations, and technical reports. The Electrical Engineer will support the successful development, implementation, and sustainment of new systems and products, as well as modifications and revisions to existing products.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Design power systems, including VFDs.
• Create 2D CAD designs for electrical systems; AutoCAD experience preferred.
• Work with mechanical engineers and designers to develop 3D electrical enclosure layouts.
• Complete designs and provide technical direction to assigned designers and technicians.
• Use Product Data Management (PDM) software for revision control.
• Create and edit Bills of Materials (BOMs) using ERP software; SAP experience preferred.
• Apply knowledge of analog and digital electrical circuits and components.
• Select electrical components and support panel wiring.
• Work with communication buses such as RS232/RS422/RS485, CAN bus, LVSB, and Ethernet.
• Follow standard project management practices.
• Proactively identify and mitigate project risks.
• Receive and follow direction while working effectively with teammates and colleagues.
• Follow all quality and safety standards.
• Participate in cross-functional teams and work groups as needed.
• Support other projects and perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field required.
• 3 years of full-time Electrical Engineering experience.
• 3–5 years of related experience preferred.
• Experience with AutoCAD for electrical systems design.
• Professional experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) or Product Data Management (PDM) software.
• Electrical enclosure layouts
• Experience with engineering project management tools.
• Strong computer skills and proficiency with standard Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong attention to detail and quality orientation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Engineering or related field.
• Passed FE exam.
• SolidWorks EPDM experience.
• SAP experience.
• ERP/MRP software experience.
• PCB experience.
• Experience with electrical component selection and panel wiring.
• Experience with RS232/RS422/RS485, CAN bus, LVSB, and Ethernet.

This is a 100% onsite position in Akron, Ohio.
