Job summary

Lumicity is seeking a Staff Electrical Engineer to own electrical designs from concept through production on next-gen semiconductor manufacturing tools in Austin, TX. You will perform schematic capture and PCB layout in Altium/OrCAD, integrating power distribution, precision motion control, sensing, analog/digital circuits, and embedded control, and drive prototype builds with the hardware team.

Staff Electrical Engineer – Semiconductor Manufacturing Equipment | Austin, TX

This is a hands-on role for someone who wants to own electrical designs from concept through production on next-gen semiconductor manufacturing tools — not just review other people's work. You'll be doing schematic capture and PCB layout in Altium/OrCAD, integrating power distribution, precision motion control, sensing, analog/digital circuits and embedded control, and driving prototype builds and bring-up alongside mechanical, software, and controls engineers.

What you’ll be doing:

• Integrating and troubleshooting complex, multi-disciplinary systems
• Embedded firmware support (C, PSoC, microcontrollers)
• Fast-turnaround prototype diagnosis and resolution
• Driving improvement through design reviews and root-cause analysis

What they’re looking for:

• BS in Electrical Engineering
• 8+ years of hands-on electrical design experience (6+ with a Master’s)
• Strong background in system design from concept to production
• Proficiency with Altium Designer or OrCAD
• Comfortable working independently in a fast-cycle prototype environment
• Lab experience with oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers is a plus

Nice to have:

• Familiarity with UL, CE, SEMI standards
• EMC/EMI, grounding and noise mitigation knowledge
