Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to design electrical systems for higher education facilities, including power distribution, lighting, emergency power, fire alarm, and telecommunications.

You will work with healthcare design standards on academic medical facilities, develop detailed construction documents and cost estimates, and mentor junior engineers while coordinating with architects and other disciplines.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical engineering design.
  • Demonstrated experience with healthcare facility design, including knowledge of healthcare codes and standards.
  • Experience with higher education projects preferred
  • Proficiency in electrical design software such as Revit, AutoCAD, and electrical analysis programs
  • Strong understanding of power distribution systems, lighting design, and low voltage systems
  • Knowledge of energy codes and sustainable design practices
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines

Responsibilities

  • Design electrical systems for higher education facilities including power distribution, lighting, emergency power, fire alarm, and telecommunications

  • Develop detailed construction documents, specifications, and cost estimates
  • Collaborate with architects, other engineering disciplines, and clients throughout project lifecycles
  • Perform electrical engineering calculations and analysis using industry-standard software
  • Conduct site assessments and field investigations of existing facilities
  • Provide construction administration services including shop drawing review and site visits
  • Mentor junior electrical engineers and coordinate with electrical designers
  • Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations including NFPA, NEC, and healthcare-specific requirements
  • Develop innovative solutions that meet sustainability goals and energy efficiency requirements

Key Responsibilities
