Job summary

Las Vegas Valley Water District seeks an Electrical/Electronics Systems Technician to maintain and repair complex electrical and electronic systems used in potable and reclaimed water production, treatment, and distribution. You will test, calibrate, troubleshoot, and perform preventive and predictive maintenance on motors, gear, and control systems, including PLCs and VFDs.

Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited vocational trade school and two years of journey-level experience in electrical/electronic equipment.
Experience with large water works systems and electronic control equipment.
Ability to read plans, schematics and wiring diagrams.

Responsibilities

Test, troubleshoot, calibrate and repair electrical and electronic systems in waterworks facilities.
Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on motors, transformers, MCCs and instrumentation.
Install upgrades and modifications; read blueprints and wiring diagrams; layout modifications.
Coordinate with other sections and schedule preventive maintenance activities.
