Job summary

Las Vegas Valley Water District is seeking an Electrical Engineer to perform design and construction of electrical and instrumentation elements for water treatment and distribution projects. The role requires coordination with maintenance and shop personnel to troubleshoot and resolve issues.

Ideal candidates have a four-year electrical engineering degree, Nevada PE registration, and 3+ years of related experience in utilities.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering; Nevada PE registration is required for appointment.
Minimum of three years of progressive professional electrical engineering experience, preferably in a water utility.
Knowledge of NEC, IEEE standards, and instrumentation/controls.
Ability to design electrical, telemetry, control and instrumentation systems and prepare design plans.

Responsibilities

Under supervision, perform complex professional electrical engineering work in design, planning and construction of electrical and instrumentation elements for capital projects.
Provide engineering support to trade shop personnel in diagnosing and resolving electrical malfunctions.
Prepare design plans and specifications for electrical projects and coordinate with contractors and agencies.
