Job summary

Cushing Terrell is hiring an Electrical EIT or Designer to own electrical design across a wide range of project types, including power distribution, lighting, life safety systems, and arc flash studies. You will produce construction documents and one-line diagrams, and run arc-fault studies to keep designs code compliant.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualifications.
• 5+ years of job-related electrical design experience including power distribution, lighting, or life safety design.
• Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Outlook and Microsoft Office.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills applied in an architecture and engineering practice.

Responsibilities

• Develop electrical construction documents in Revit and AutoCAD, including branch circuit design, service and feeder calculations, panel schedules, and lighting layouts across commercial, retail, healthcare, and residential projects.
• Build one-line diagrams and perform arc-fault, short circuit, and arc flash studies to support code-compliant electrical distribution design.
• Apply knowledge of emergency power systems (generators, UPS, battery-backed life safety lighting) to meet codes.
• Design lighting systems and controls balancing performance, compliance, and client standards.
• Take ownership of design decisions across scopes, coordinating with Project Engineers and Engineers of Record.
