Job summary

HDR, Inc. in Missoula, Montana, seeks an electrical/architectural engineer to perform design and evaluation, write specifications, review documents, and support project management on small to mid-size projects.

You will work with owners, coordinate with architectural staff and other disciplines, supervise CAD technicians, and help advance toward licensure; EIT is preferred or willingness to pursue registration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis.
• Desire to pursue growth opportunities and obtain registration.
• Strong computer skills using AutoCAD and Microsoft Office, Revit, SKM, AGI and Easy Power.
• An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.
• EIT certification strongly preferred; candidates hired without EIT will have title of "Designer" and will be expected to obtain EIT.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, select, and modify electrical engineering techniques and procedures.
• Collaborate with owners to develop recommendations.
• Review electrical documents for conflicts with other disciplines.
• Write and edit electrical specifications; select equipment and devices.
• Perform contract administration with field inspections and conflict resolution.
• Make decisions on significant design features as needed.
• Act as Project Manager on small/medium projects when needed (not primary focus).
• Supervise Electrical CAD Technicians and coordinate with architectural staff and other disciplines.
• Perform other duties as needed.
