Job summary

Addison Group is seeking an Electrical Distribution Designer to design and optimize electric distribution systems in Texas. The role involves collaborating with property owners and engineering teams, delivering both overhead and underground design work, and ensuring safe construction practice across 4kV–35kV projects.

The candidate should have an associate degree or equivalent experience, strong mentoring ability, and a solid grasp of distribution design methodologies within the utility sector.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or certificate in Electric Power Technology or 3+ years of direct Electric Distribution design experience.
• Knowledge of operation/maintenance of electrical distribution systems.
• Experience in joint construction and electric utility best practices.

Responsibilities

• Represent the company professionally when meeting with property owners, engineering firms, and construction resources.
• Stay updated with technologies, planning, and design methodologies in Electric Distribution Design.
• Mentor and transfer design knowledge to other staff members.
• Design both overhead and underground electric distribution facilities.
• Recognize 4kV–35kV distribution framing and components and initiate appropriate designs for construction or reconstruction.
• Perform distribution line design calculations for structure loading, guying, geometric angles, conductor sag, framing, and construction safety.
