Job summary

M&S Engineering, LLC seeks a qualified Electric Underground/Overhead Distribution Designer to create distribution field designs, stake facilities, estimate projects, and prepare construction prints using CAD/GIS tools. The role reports to the office and is not remote.

Responsibilities include coordinating with contractors, engineers, and clients, researching easements, and ensuring design accuracy in GIS/AutoCAD. Travel across Texas may be required; NEC and safety standards apply.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with 3 years of related experience.
• Valid Driver’s License and insurable to drive company vehicles.
• Experience using AutoCAD and GIS mapping.
• Willingness to travel overnight across Texas and surrounding states.
• Knowledge of National Electric Code and safety standards.
• Strong communication and written skills.
• Ability to work outdoors in all seasons and environments.

Responsibilities

• Produce electric distribution field designs and construction prints.
• Perform staking of distribution facilities and project estimation.
• Interface with contractors, engineers, developers, customers, and consultants.
• Coordinate with stakeholders on power supply processes and procedures.
• Edit GIS data to ensure accuracy and connectivity.
• Research easement information and manage project documentation.
• Conduct pre-construction meetings and assist with safety compliance.
• Read blueprints and interpret specifications and drawings.
