Job summary

L2x Talent Solutions in Bloomingdale, IL is seeking an Electrical Controls Engineer to design, develop, and implement industrial control systems for custom automation projects. You will create electrical schematics and panel layouts, select components, and support cost estimates, proposals, and the full project lifecycle from design through startup.

Qualifications

1+ years of experience in industrial controls, automation, machine building, OEM equipment, drive systems, or related industries.
Experience developing 2D electrical schematics and control system designs.
Exposure to full project lifecycle, including component selection, system design, and quote or proposal support.
Experience creating control panel layouts and panel designs using 3D CAD software; SolidWorks Electrical preferred.
Experience supporting purchase orders, project documentation, and manufacturing/build activities.
Ability to provide technical support to panel builders, electricians, and manufacturing teams during system assembly.
Experience with ERP systems for BOM, project, or material management; Prophet 21 experience a plus.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and implement industrial control systems for custom automation projects.
Support concept development, project proposals, and cost estimating activities.
Create electrical schematics, control panel layouts, and BOMs.
Design three-phase power systems (up to 575VAC), AC/DC control circuits, and integrate sensors, actuators, and other field devices.
Select and specify electrical components while supporting design reviews and project execution.
Partner with panel builders, manufacturing personnel, and project teams to address technical questions throughout the build process.
Manage BOMs, purchase orders, and project-related documentation.
Provide startup support and assist customers with troubleshooting and system-related questions.
Contribute to HMI development and PLC programming efforts as needed (not a primary function of the role).
