Job summary

Austal USA is seeking a CAD Designer to lead 2D and 3D drawing development for naval vessel projects. You will review drawings from CAD Drafters and Designer I, ensuring technical accuracy and conformance to project specifications.

Ideal candidates have 3D modeling experience and a background in shipyard design, with familiarity in AutoCAD, ShipConstructor, and Navisworks. This role requires strong communication and adherence to deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate's Degree or higher in CAD preferred.
• 2 years minimum of 3D modeling experience.
• 3 to 6 years of shipyard design or production/construction experience or equivalent experience.
• Experience in construction of high speed aluminum vessels preferred.
• Experience with modular construction methods preferred.
• Experience in design and construction of US Navy vessels preferred.
