Job summary

Austal USA is seeking an experienced CAD Designer to lead 2D and 3D drawing development for high-speed aluminum vessel projects. The role involves reviewing drawings created by CAD Drafters and Designers I-III and coordinating with production management and external partners to ensure accuracy and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Associates Degree or higher in CAD preferred.
• 8 years minimum of 3D modeling experience.
• 10 years of shipyard design/production experience or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Develop 2D and 3D drawings and check drawings produced by CAD Drafters and Designers.
• Collaborate with Production Management and cross-functional teams, including customers and suppliers.
• Lead and mentor CAD Drafters and Designers I-III, ensuring drawings meet customer requirements.
