Job summary
Uni-Systems Engineering is seeking an experienced Electrical Designer/Field Technician in Plymouth, MN to produce electrical drawings, source components, and support field installation and commissioning. The role requires hands-on electrical skills and travel for installation and maintenance.
You will collaborate with electrical engineers to deliver shop-ready drawings, BOMs, and reliable field systems, with 25% travel to projects.
Qualifications
- AA/AAS degree in Automated Systems preferred and/or a licensed Electrician.
- 5+ years’ experience in Electrical Design and/or installation.
- Operational knowledge of electrical control systems, including PLCs, VFDs, and networks.
- Familiar with NEC codes and field installation practices.
Responsibilities
- Produce electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel drawings, and BOMs.
- Source parts, coordinate lead times with vendors, and document specs.
- Assemble and test electrical assemblies in-house and onsite.
- Perform quality control inspections and FAT support.
- Install and test power, control, LAN, and fiber cabling onsite.
- Provide on-site troubleshooting and field modifications.
