Job summary

Glumac, a Tetra Tech company, is seeking an Electrical Designer in Austin, TX. You will transform concepts into constructible electrical solutions for a wide range of projects, leveraging BIM and REVIT to deliver accurate, reliable designs in collaboration with architects and other engineers.

You will develop designs from concept through construction, perform load calculations, and support code research and coordination with multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience as an MEP Designer in the building construction industry.
• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering.
• Proficiency in REVIT.
• Must be located within a commutable distance of the Austin, TX office.
• Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; this position is not eligible for current or future employment visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Design and plan electrical power systems for all types of projects, including commercial, advanced technology, mission critical, education, government, healthcare, science & technology.
• Design and specification of power and control systems, system layouts, load calculations, equipment sizing and selection, performing calculations of lighting systems and associated controls.
• Work with external team members, including architects, outside consultants, code officials, and contractors.
• Work with internal team members of other disciplines to provide a coordinated and thoughtful design.
• Perform load calculations, equipment sizing, and equipment selection.
• Assist with electrical code research for project-specific issues.
• Support construction administration tasks, including responses to RFIs and equipment submittals.
• Interface with code officials and contractors as needed.
• Work closely with project teams to support assigned efforts from concept through construction.
