Job summary

Strata Clean Energy is seeking an Electrical Designer 3 to prepare and develop technical drawings and specifications for electrical systems in ground mount utility-scale solar PV power plants. The role requires understanding Electrical Engineering principles and the ability to clearly present information to guide installation.

The candidate should have 8+ years of relevant experience, proficiency with AutoCAD, strong written and verbal communication, and the ability to deliver high-quality work

Qualifications

  • Minimum eight (8) years relevant work experience.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to produce high quality work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ready and eager to learn new technologies.
  • AS in Technology from an ABET accredited university (desired).
  • Experience with design of PV projects (desired).

Responsibilities

  • Develop and evaluate electrical system requirements for utility-scale solar PV power plants.
  • Develop electrical layouts with AutoCAD.
  • Prepare and revise electrical plans and layouts.
  • Calculate material quantities for Bill of Materials (BOM).

Description
Summary:

Electrical Designer 3 is responsible for preparation and development of technical drawings and specifications of electrical systems for ground mount utility-scale solar PV power plants. This role requires an understanding of Electrical Engineering principles, along with the ability to analyze information and present it in a clear, accessible manner to guide electrical installation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop and evaluate electrical system requirements for utility-scale solar PV power plants
  • Develop electrical layouts with AutoCAD
  • Prepare and revise electrical plans and layouts
  • Calculate material quantities for Bill of Materials (BOM)
  • Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to ensure design compatibility
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

Physical Requirements/Work Environment:

Work is performed in the office and in the field. Must be able to sit, stand, bend, twist and lift up to 20 pounds. May be exposed to weather elements when in the field. Limited out of town travel may be required.
