Electrical Design Engineer

Oconomowoc, WI | On-site

We're looking for an Electrical Design Engineer to support the design and development of electrical systems for Sentry products. This is a great opportunity for an early-career engineer to grow hands‑on design skills while working closely with manufacturing, service, and experienced engineers.

What You'll Do

• Analyze new and existing products for design feasibility, reliability, and manufacturability
• Create and refine electrical system designs and drawings using SolidWorks Electrical
• Prepare drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), IOM manuals, and technical documentation
• Apply applicable electrical codes and standards (NEMA, ATEX, ANSI, API, CSA, CE, CRN, as required)
• Support testing and debugging of products in the shop
• Manage multiple projects while meeting schedules and design requirements
• Collaborate with manufacturing and other departments to resolve issues and implement Engineering Changes
• Take ownership of assigned work while learning Sentry's products and processes

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• Some exposure to electrical design in an industrial environment preferred
• Experience or coursework involving:
  • Wiring techniques and electrical schematics
  • Analog and digital circuit design
  • Electrical codes (NEC, UL 508A, CE)
  • Basic PLC (ladder logic) or microprocessor programming
• Ability to read and interpret EWDs, P&IDs, and technical drawings
• Proficiency with SolidWorks Electrical, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office
• Strong communication, organization, and technical writing skills
• Team-oriented mindset with a strong ownership mentality
