Job summary

Sentry Equipment is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to develop electrical systems for our rugged products in an on-site role in Oconomowoc, WI. You will design, document, and refine electrical assemblies while collaborating with manufacturing and service teams to meet project objectives.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s in electrical engineering or equivalent, experience with electrical design in industrial settings, and familiarity with NEC/UL/CE codes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Exposure to electrical design in an industrial environment preferred.
• Experience or coursework in wiring techniques, analog/digital circuit design, electrical codes (NEC, UL 508A, CE).
• Basic PLC (ladder logic) or microprocessor programming.
• Ability to read EWDs, P&IDs, and technical drawings.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks Electrical, ERP systems, and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Analyze new and existing products for design feasibility, reliability, and manufacturability.
• Create and refine electrical system designs and drawings using SolidWorks Electrical.
• Prepare drawings, BOMs, IOM manuals, and technical documentation.
• Apply electrical codes and standards as required (NEC, UL 508A, CE).
• Support testing and debugging of products in the shop.
• Manage multiple projects while meeting schedules and design requirements.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and other departments to resolve issues and implement Engineering Changes.
