Are you a dedicated Electrical Designer looking for your next challenge? We are seeking a talented professional to join a leader in the power industry.

Fully remote

Contract-to-hire position

$40-$73/hr. DOE

Experience working on duct banks, cable trays, conduits, and heat tracing for power generation projects is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities
* Utilize applicable engineering national and local codes
* Design duct bank, embedded conduit, cable tray, grounding, and lighting systems from concept to completion utilizing engineering documents, sketches, or vendor data.
* Report project progression updates and issues to the project lead team.
* Coordinate with the project team using the Project Database: Request for Review Process, Holds List, ECN, RFI, and other functions.
* Develop 3D models from drawings, sketches, and design inputs. Check for interferences and constructability.
* Route electrical cables in a 3D environment to generate cable schedules.
* Model electrical components using vendor submittals and electrical designs.
* Perform calculations for conduit fill, cable tray systems, and pull box sizing according to NEC standards.
* Gather information to develop designs and verify voltage separation requirements.
* Create plan drawings and electrical details.
* Analyze, inspect, and construct designs adhering to electrical quality standards.
* Check designs for consistency, safety, operability, and maintenance.
* Resolve design issues and comments.
* Support project development with miscellaneous tasks.
* Assist construction in resolving field issues.

Qualifications
* Experience in design and drafting disciplines
* Proficiency with 3D programs such as MicroStation, AutoCAD, SP3D, and knowledge of current operating systems
* Ability to conceptualize in 3D
* Ability to work independently with limited oversight
* Strong communication skills
