Job summary

Bergelectric Corp. in Escondido, CA is seeking an Electrical Design Manager to lead design build and design assist projects, support pursuit efforts, and coordinate with engineering partners during the design phase.

You will review bid documents, prepare design concepts, ensure code compliance, manage schedules, and collaborate across teams to deliver high-quality electrical designs for complex projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in electrical design or related field.
• Minimum 5–7 years in electrical power, lighting, and systems design or PM/PE experience.
• Strong reading of contracts, plans and specs.
• Proficient with National Electrical Codes and Life Safety Codes.
• Experience with LEAN methodologies and process improvement.

Responsibilities

• Supports Preconstruction and Estimating during pursuit to develop design ideas and respond to RFPs.
• Identifies issues in bid documents and prepares RFIs to resolve conflicts.
• Assists project teams with RFP compliance, design quality control, budgets and schedules.
• Monitors design evolution with engineering partners to meet RFP goals and company standards.
• Keeps up with new electrical codes, safety practices, and technologies.
• Builds strong relationships with customers and internal teams for successful projects.
• Occasional travel may be required to support project needs.
