Job summary

Bowman invites an Electrical Design Intern to join our Baltimore team, gaining exposure to a range of projects from commercial to industrial. You will work under supervision to design electrical systems, assist in producing construction documents, and learn codes under experienced engineers.

The role emphasizes learning, collaboration across departments, and professional growth while developing drafting skills in AutoCAD/REVIT and related tools.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent commensurate experience required.
• Enrolled in an ABET-accredited degree program, preferably in an electrical engineering program of study.
• Interest in MEP design as a future career path.
• Introductory study or knowledge of AutoCAD, REVIT, or similar drafting/3D modeling software, SKM software tools, and/or AGI Lighting Design software.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Design appropriate electrical systems in accordance with current code requirements and sound engineering principles.
• Communicate effectively with engineers, project manager, and occasionally the client.
• Conduct field observations visits to accurately document the existing field conditions.
• Accurately produce the project construction documents to meet milestone schedules within a predetermined hourly budget under direction of a senior engineer and project manager.
• If directed, review all project related construction administrative items (shop drawings, RFI's, change order proposals).
• Review and learn codes applicable to the discipline.
