Job summary

GPD Group in Ohio is seeking an Electrical Design Engineering Co-op for Fall 2027. You will contribute to low voltage lighting and renewable energy design, working as a billable team member and learning design tools under a professional engineer.

Based in Akron, Independence or Cleveland offices, you'll collaborate on projects with clients and assist in AutoCAD and Revit workflows while developing practical engineering skills and professional judgment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Interest in low voltage building lighting/power and renewable energy design work.
• Interest in designing for Solar PV/EV battery charging stations.
• Ability to work in AutoCAD/Revit.
• Must be a team player and be self-motivated.
• Ability to work on both project teams and individual work assignments.

Electrical Design Engineering Co‑op: Fall 2027 Semester

Electrical Engineering in Low Voltage Lighting and Renewable Energy Design: This is not a “get coffee and file paperwork” type of co‑op experience. You will be a billable member of the team doing design work for our clients and learning how to use different design technology and software systems while mentoring under a professional engineer on our Electrical team.
