Job summary

Qualus is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to design and develop utility substation engineering packages, including one-line diagrams, schematics, and interconnection diagrams. You will collaborate with multiple groups to ensure design concurrence and deliver comprehensive P&C packages for relaying and communications systems.

The role involves client meetings, presenting technical solutions, and mentoring drafters and junior engineers, with an emphasis on ongoing professional development

Qualifications

• Bachelors in Electrical Engineering with power focus from ABET-accredited school; MS considered in lieu of BS.
• 3+ years in utility substation P&C design packages including AC/DC diagrams and panel layouts.
• FE license is a plus and pursuing PE; desire for continuing education.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Substation Physical Engineering, Relay Settings and other groups.
• Develop complete engineering design packages for protective relaying and comms systems.
• Develop SCADA packages and input/output lists.
• Provide technical direction and on-the-job training to drafters and junior engineers.
• Maintain trusted relationships with current or prospective clients.
• Present technical solutions to customers and respond to questions.
