Job summary

Leidos Defense in Huntsville, AL seeks an Electrical Design Engineer to solve complex electrical problems and design power, RF, and analog/digital circuits.

Responsibilities include creating top-level and sub-assembly diagrams, using KiCAD/SolidWorks Electrical, and collaborating with project teams; requires US citizenship and ability to obtain Secret clearance. Relocation to Huntsville area preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a STEM discipline from an ABET accredited school with 4+ years of direct applicable experience or MS degree with 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Position requires demonstrated expertise in design work using a CAD package similar to SolidWorks and SolidWorks Electrical.
• Strong understanding of electrical system level design.
• Ability to design for rapid prototyping and fabrication in a dynamic environment.
• Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
• Candidate must be a resident of or be willing to relocate to the Huntsville, AL area.

Responsibilities

• Solve complex electrical problems using off-the-shelf parts as well as the ability to develop custom solutions.
• Create solutions using techniques spanning a variety of engineering disciplines including power distribution, RF design, logic/controls, and custom analog and digital circuit design.
• Use test equipment such as VNAs, spectrum analyzers, multimeters, network analyzers, and lab power supplies/loads.
• Create detailed block diagrams to define top level systems as well as lower level sub assemblies.
• Document and release designs using KiCAD, SolidWorks Electrical, Visio, or similar.
• Work collaboratively with project team(s) to formulate innovative solutions to complex problems and products across a broad range of applications.
