Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Power Systems Applications Engineer to support electrical power distribution solutions for mission-critical facilities. This role partners with customers and cross-functional teams to develop technical solutions, prepare engineering documentation, and provide application support throughout the project lifecycle—from design through commissioning.
This position is well suited for an engineer with a strong background in electrical power systems and customer-facing technical support.
Engineering & Technical Support
- Develop application solutions that meet customer and project requirements.
- Work closely with engineering, sales, and operations teams throughout project execution.
- Prepare technical proposals, engineering submittals, and supporting project documentation.
- Review and update engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
- Provide application support for electrical distribution equipment and power system solutions.
- Assist with troubleshooting during installation, commissioning, startup, and field operation.
- Support projects through design, manufacturing, order processing, delivery, and installation.
Customer & Product Support
- Deliver technical presentations and product training to customers and business partners.
- Provide application guidance and respond to technical questions.
- Participate in product testing, validation, and competitive evaluations.
- Gather customer feedback and collaborate with internal teams to improve products and applications.
Travel
- Travel to customer and project sites as needed, approximately 25%–35%.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of experience in applications engineering, design engineering, or field engineering supporting electrical power systems or data center infrastructure.
- 2+ years of experience using AutoCAD for engineering design and technical drafting.
- Strong knowledge of electrical power distribution equipment, including:
- Switchboards
- Power Distribution Units (PDUs)
- Static Transfer Switches (STS)
- N+1 and 2N redundancy architectures
- Ability to read and interpret electrical one-line diagrams, schematics, and technical specifications.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Willingness to travel domestically as required.
