Job summary

APTIM Federal Services, LLC is seeking an electrical engineer to join our team serving Government and Commercial programs. You will design electrical systems, lead projects, and collaborate across disciplines to deliver complete design packages.

Requirements include a BS in Electrical Engineering (ABET-accredited), 5–9 years of experience, and the ability to obtain DOE clearance. Travel to project sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from ABET-accredited school
• 5–9 years of related electrical engineering experience
• Familiarity with NEC, IEEE, NFPA, and ANSI codes/standards
• Professional Engineering license or ability to obtain shortly after hire
• US citizen with ability to obtain DOE security clearance
• Strong computer skills with Office (Word, Excel)
• Experience with ETAP, SKM, Visual, etc.
• Experience with AutoCAD, REVIT, or MicroStation
• Good verbal and writing skills
• Travel for infrequent field/site visits

Responsibilities

• Produce complete electrical design documentation including drawings, specs, and electrical calculations for power distribution, lighting, grounding, protection, instrumentation, and controls
• May lead projects or supervise lower level personnel on project work
• Resolve a diverse range of complex problems through data analysis
• Use good judgment in selecting methods and techniques
• Coordinate with other engineers/designers to plan and detail components and systems
• Collaborate with other disciplines for multi-discipline design packages
• Assist with initial planning and design phases of projects
• Support procurement and construction phases with engineering knowledge
• Ensure conformance to codes, standards, and company policies
• Travel to work sites to provide engineering support and meet with clients
