Job summary

Enercon Services, Inc. in the United States seeks an Electrical Design Engineer for our Nuclear Design Group, stationed at Birmingham, AL. This full-time role supports mid-level to principal engineer tracks with leadership, mentoring, and career progression across diverse nuclear projects.

You will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, develop design studies, perform calculations, and participate in field walkdowns to ensure technical excellence and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering.
• At least 3 years designing electrical systems (high voltage, switchgear, motor controls).
• Experience in power generation, nuclear power or government (DOE) projects.
• Strong writing, presentation and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in teams; proficient with Word/Excel.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate across disciplines to integrate project designs.
• Develop design studies, define project scopes, and create accurate engineering estimates.
• Draft detailed electrical equipment specifications; evaluate bids and select top solutions.
• Perform essential electrical calculations for designs and installations.
• Travel to project sites, conduct walkdowns, oversee installations, and support startup activities.
• Lead and inspire teams to achieve project goals.
