Job summary

PROCEPT BioRobotics Corporation in California seeks an experienced Staff Electrical Engineer to design, verify, and document electrical systems for our surgical robotic capital equipment. You will work with engineering, manufacturing, and regulatory teams to ensure EMI, signal integrity, and DFx objectives are met while supporting certification efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 8+ years of related experience in electrical design.
• Experience with analog/mixed-signal circuits and DFx.
• Proficient with PCBA design tools and lab measurement equipment.
• Strong written and verbal communication; cross‑functional work.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, maintain, and document electrical systems for PROCEPT products.
• Serve as EE expert on electronics subassemblies including controllers and interfaces.
• Support supplier engineering with component evaluation and second-source analysis.
• Ensure designs consider mechanical, firmware, software, and system interactions; emphasize testability and manufacturability.
• Troubleshoot electrical and system-level issues; perform root cause analysis.
• Document hardware requirements, DFMEAs, drawings, specs, verification plans and reports.
• Assist with agency testing (UL, CE, IEC 60601) and participate in design reviews.
• Work on-site with minimal supervision; comply with QMS and EHS policies.
