Placements24 is seeking a Junior Electrical Design Engineer for an on-site internship in Welkom, Free State. You will assist in creating electrical schematics, specifications, and reports, under guidance from experienced engineers, gaining hands-on experience in electrical system design.

The role emphasizes learning, collaboration, and exposure to various facets of electrical engineering, with a strong focus on power systems, CAD work, and development of professional skills for a future career

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related discipline.
• Strong academic record with focus on power systems and electrical design principles.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD) is advantageous.
• Basic understanding of electrical codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior engineers in design and development of electrical systems, including schematics and layouts.
• Prepare technical drawings, specifications, and BOMs using CAD software.
• Conduct basic calculations for power, load, and cable sizing.
• Support preparation of project documentation and reports.
• Participate in site visits and assist with commissioning activities as required.
• Research and select appropriate electrical components and equipment.
• Collaborate with team to ensure project requirements are met.
• Learn and apply industry standards and best practices in electrical design.
• Assist in troubleshooting and resolving design-related queries.
• Maintain organized project files and documentation.
