Job summary

Cypress HCM is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to design electrical systems, control panels, and documentation for standard and custom industrial equipment. This hands-on role emphasizes working with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, compliant solutions.

You will develop PLC-based controls and HMIs, create schematics and wiring diagrams, and support testing, maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives. 2+ years experience and a technical degree are expected.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in electrical engineering, design, or controls.
• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Knowledge of NEC/UL/CSA/CE requirements.
• Experience with power distribution, motor control, sensors.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems, power distribution, motor starters, safety devices, and control systems.
• Research technologies in programmable controls, HMIs, VFDs, sensors and switches.
• Prepare schematics, wiring diagrams, and enclosure layouts.
• Develop electrical testing plans and verification.
• Maintain electrical design standards and BOMs.
• Provide engineering support during assembly, testing, and production.
• Collaborate with customers and sales to meet requirements.
• Identify cost reduction and design optimization opportunities.
• Program and modify PLC-based controls and HMIs.
