Job summary

ARC Specialties in Houston, TX is seeking an Electrical Designer to join our automation team. You will perform project and electrical design work, prepare schematics, layouts, BOMs and installation details, and collaborate with Mechanical and Electrical Designers.

You'll walk the shop floor to support production and report to the Vice President of Design. The ideal candidate has an associate degree, 3+ years of electrical design experience for industrial or OEM equipment, strong AutoCAD skills,

Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical diploma in Electrical Design, Electrical Technology, or related field (Bachelor’s degree a plus).
• 3+ years of experience in electrical design for industrial, OEM, or engineered equipment.
• Strong computer skills and proficiency with MS Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Demonstrated proficiency to do AutoCAD drawings.
• Ability to multi-task and handle multiple projects.
• Effective written and oral communications.
• Ability to work in a team environment and coordinate with other areas to achieve goals and objectives.
• Ability to effectively manage time and complete assignments on a timely basis.

Responsibilities

• Complete electrical designs and layouts for complete systems and components of a project.
• Perform project design packages typically comprising wiring schematics, layouts, BOM, installation details, etc.
• Understand and apply commonly used company design standards and methods.
• Design and create 2D drawings.
• Collaborate with both Mechanical and Electrical Designers to ensure quality of design.
• Ensure that tasks assigned are completed on time and are of good quality.
• Other items as required by Engineering management team.
