Job summary

Invacare in Elyria, OH is seeking a design engineering lead for electrical/design systems. You will guide concept through production, leading embedded firmware development and ensuring key product specifications are met.

Responsibilities include system integration, testing, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration with QA/RA, Operations and Marketing. A BS in EE and 3+ years of experience are required, with medical device experience a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of product engineering experience in a team-based environment.
• Proven engineering expertise in software, motors, controls systems, battery, switches, PLCs.
• Knowledge of medical regulatory requirements is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering leadership throughout design and development from concept to final release.
• Lead control system software integration and troubleshooting of field issues.
• Develop and test prototypes, build documentation, and manage development schedules.
• Support manufacturing with BOM, EC processes, and change management.
• Ensure compliance with Invacare quality systems and safety standards.
• Collaborate with QA/RA, Operations, Marketing, and Technical Services.
