Job summary

TTM Technologies, Inc. – Aerospace & Defense sector seeks a firmware/hardware engineer to lead research, development, design, and testing of HW/FW components for radar, surveillance, and communications systems. Must be eligible for a Secret clearance where required.

You will collaborate with engineers, develop designs using project toolchains, and build test benches while performing unit testing and peer reviews to ensure robust performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
• Ability to obtain a Secret clearance when required for certain projects.
• 0–5 years of relevant experience in firmware/hardware development is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead research, development, design, and test of hardware/firmware components, equipment and systems.
• Provide analysis related to design, development and implementation.
• Develop HWCI/FW components under supervision of Manager/Lead.
• Develop FW/HW under direction of Manager/Lead and create test procedures.
• Create test benches and perform unit testing of HW/FW components.
• Update designs as required based on test results and coordinate peer reviews of FW/HW design.

Responsibilities

• Lead the research, development, design, and test of hardware/firmware components, equipment and systems.
• Provide analysis related to the design, development and implementation.
• Develop design for simple FW or HW Component (HWCI) (in project’s design tool) based on hardware requirements provided and under direction of Manager/Lead.
• Develop FW/HW for such under direction of Manager/Lead.
• Develop test procedures, test bench and perform unit testing of such.
• Perform modifications/debug FW/HW, test procedures, and/or test bench.
• Update designs as required based on results of unit testing (i.e. align design to tested FW/HW).
• Configure final tested unit and test bench.
• Participate in others’ peer reviews of FW/HW design and code.

Experience & Education

• Minimum 0-5 Years Relevant Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
• Must have a background that would permit the U.S. Department of Defense to issue a Secret clearance when necessary for work on a project that requires such a clearance.

• Compensation ranges for roles at TTM Technologies varies depending on a wide array of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; certifications; and other business and organizational needs.
• A reasonable estimate of the current range is: $88,045 - $146,741
• Additional compensation: An annual or quarterly company bonus may apply based on position assignment.
• Positions hired for alternative shift may be eligible for a shift premium based on the assigned shift and location.

• c) understand and follow authorization procedures for bringing foreign visitors into facilities (VAL);
• d) understand the Export and ITAR requirements for shipments leaving the US;
• e) manage vendor approvals for ITAR manufacturing and services.
