Job summary

TTM Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Staff Electrical Design Engineer to lead the research, design, and testing of high-speed hardware and firmware for aerospace and defense applications.

The role involves FPGA-based DSP, radar signal processing, and complex HWCI development, with DoD clearance considerations. You will oversee requirements interpretation, system partitioning, and hardware verification, while mentoring engineers and presenting at formal reviews.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• 10+ years of experience in electrical design for aerospace/defense.
• Background permitting U.S. Secret clearance for DoD work.

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret customer requirements and contracts.
• Develop and validate complex hardware architectures and HWCI allocations.
• Lead hardware design, firmware integration, and system verification.
• Provide technical direction and mentoring to engineers.
• Present at PDR/CDR/TIMs and develop HW verification matrices.
• Generate hardware schedules and cost estimates.

• Develop complex system-level Hardware architecture, including design partitioning and component selection - FPGA, critical components


• Implement high speed Digital Signal Processing (DSP) functions in an FPGA (digital filters, FFT...)

• Lead groups of electrical engineers through development tasks


• Perform technical reviews of design and code to ensure design integrity

EXPERIENCE:

• Experience 10+ years


• Firmware - High Speed FW Design (300 Mhz)


• Firmware - Digital Filters


• Firmware - FFT


• Firmware - RADAR Signal Processing - desired.


• Firmware - DO-254 DAL A or DAL C experience is a plus.


• Board - High Speed Design

• Board - Point of load power distribution


• Integration and Test - Board - Ability to debug complex HW at board and box level.


• Integration and Test - FW - Ability to debug complex FW and verify against a system model.

Compensation ranges for roles at TTM Technologies varies depending on a wide array of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At TTM Technologies, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on each individual set of circumstances. A reasonable estimate of the current range is:

Additional compensation: An annual or quarterly company bonus may apply based on position assignment. Positions hired for alternative shift may be eligible for a shift premium based on the assigned shift and location.
