Electrical Project Manager

Position Overview
We are hiring an experienced Electrical Project Manager to oversee custom power distribution equipment projects from project kickoff through final delivery. This position is responsible for coordinating engineering, manufacturing, procurement, testing, and shipping activities while serving as the primary contact for customers throughout the project lifecycle.
The ideal candidate has experience managing engineered-to-order manufacturing projects, developing project schedules, and working with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality electrical equipment on time.
Project Leadership
- Manage projects from initial requirements through engineering, procurement, production, testing, shipment, and project completion.
- Serve as the primary customer contact throughout each phase of the project.
- Lead project kickoff meetings and track action items to completion.
- Develop and maintain project schedules while monitoring key milestones.
- Establish delivery timelines based on production capacity and material availability.
- Monitor project progress and provide regular status updates to internal teams and customers.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Partner with sales, application engineering, design engineering, supply chain, production, quality, and logistics teams to keep projects on schedule.
- Coordinate engineering revisions, customer change requests, and schedule adjustments.
- Support factory acceptance testing (FAT), documentation packages, and shipment readiness.
- Identify project risks early and implement solutions to minimize delays.
- Maintain accurate project records, schedule updates, and on-time delivery metrics.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Project Management, or a related field preferred.
- 5+ years of project management experience in a manufacturing, electrical equipment, or electromechanical environment.
- Experience managing engineered-to-order (ETO) or custom manufacturing projects.
- Strong understanding of project scheduling, order management, and long-lead material planning.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, single-line diagrams, and technical specifications.
- Experience collaborating with engineering, supply chain, production, quality, and logistics teams.
- Proficiency with ERP systems and project scheduling software such as Microsoft Project or Smartsheet.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and customer relationship management skills.
- Ability to successfully manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
Experience with power distribution equipment
- Switchgear
- Power Distribution Centers (PDCs)
- Remote Power Panels (RPPs)
- Static Transfer Switches (STS)
- Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems
- PMP certification or active pursuit of certification.
- Familiarity with electrical industry standards, including UL, NEC, and ANSI.
- Experience coordinating Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and customer witness testing.
- Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma experience.
