Job summary

SpaceX is seeking an Electrical Designer (Construction) in Hawthorne, CA. You will design and activate high-power electrical systems for critical infrastructure projects, coordinating with engineers, trade partners and internal customers. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering; 1+ years of experience on electrical projects, power distribution systems, switchgear, UPSs, and/or generators.
• Ability to read and understand power and control schematics and O&M manuals.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license is preferred.
• Experience with variable frequency drives (VFDs) and industrial pumps; MODBUS communication; medium voltage distribution.

Responsibilities

• Design and specify electrical power distribution, switchgear, UPS units, and generators for new construction.
• Troubleshoot and provide electrical engineering support to facility technicians and for design/operation of electrical components.
• Ensure interfaces with mechanical systems and compliance with codes and NFPA standards.
• Coordinate installations with utilities and review power budgets.
