Job summary

Guerdon LLC is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join our Boise, Idaho team. You will design electrical systems for modular constructions—multifamily, hospitality, and related sectors—producing schematic through construction documents with Revit and related tools.

You will collaborate with architects, engineers, and production teams to ensure constructible, code-compliant, and cost-effective solutions while maintaining high technical quality and project coordination.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of electrical engineering within building construction.
• Experience designing electrical systems for commercial/multifamily/hospitality.
• Proficient in Revit, Bluebeam, and MS Office.
• Strong NEC knowledge and building codes.
• Experience creating coordinated construction documents in Revit.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical design for modular construction projects across multifamily, affordable housing, hospitality, workforce housing, and light commercial sectors.
• Develop electrical designs and contract drawings from schematic design through construction documents.
• Apply engineering principles to design of electrical distribution, power, lighting, and related systems.
• Develop electrical layouts, one-line diagrams, schedules, details in Revit and related software.
• Perform engineering calculations and equipment selection per project requirements.
• Independently evaluate design alternatives and apply sound engineering judgment.
• Design electrical systems with modular manufacturing and site conditions in mind.
• Review construction documents and coordinates with architects and other disciplines.
• Apply NEC and building codes to electrical design.
• Develop cost-effective, energy-efficient design solutions.
• Maintain high technical quality in designs and docs.
• Stay current with code changes and industry standards.
• Identify opportunities to improve design processes and coordination.
• Support Engineering Department improvements.
• Provide guidance to Electrical Designers and teammates.
• Contribute to a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
• Participate in meetings while following company policies.
