Job summary

Tesla in Austin, TX is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join the Infrastructure Electrical Engineering team onsite. You will design electrical power distribution systems powering Gigafactory Texas, coordinate across disciplines, and prepare deliverables from scope through energization.

This entry-level role emphasizes NEC-based design, field work, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver robust power solutions.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
0-2 years of experience in electrical design; internships/co-ops related to MEP design and Revit are considered.
Experience applying the NEC to sizing overcurrent protection, conductors and grounding.
Exposure to low voltage distribution design (480V to 120V).

Responsibilities

Support electrical power distribution design from scope through construction.
Apply the NEC to develop code-compliant designs.
Coordinate with Design Managers, Manufacturing, Construction and other stakeholders.
Prepare IFP/IFC electrical deliverables (single-line diagrams, panel schedules, grounding drawings, conduit drawings, power plans, lighting layouts) in Revit MEP.
Perform field walks and surveys with peers and Construction.
Review equipment submittals and specifications with guidance from senior engineers.
Answer RFIs and design questions.
