Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join a global engineering team responsible for the design and continuous innovation of our expanding data center footprint.

You will help design resilient electrical distribution systems to achieve world-class uptime and cost efficiency across AWS data centers. The role involves working with utilities, vendors, and internal teams, traveling up to 20% to Virginia data centers and occasionally internationally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and 4+ years of industrial or commercial engineering experience in mission critical facilities.
• Experience in commissioning and working with US building codes and regulations.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods for data center equipment and facilities.

Responsibilities

• Data center electrical designs and collaboration to create a construction document set.
• Create designs that meet quality requirements within budget.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and municipal codes with local agencies.
• Review and approve equipment submittals.
• Define project scope and provide technical support during construction phases.
• Work with commissioning teams to test and validate electrical systems.
• Manage concurrent projects across regions.
• Travel to sites for site reviews and collaboration with field engineers.
