Job summary

Orion Placement in Miami is seeking an experienced electrical engineer to design and develop power distribution systems for commercial buildings. You will work with switchgear, generators, fire alarm systems, and related infrastructure on-site in South Florida, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

The role requires active Florida PE licensure, hands-on experience with building electrical systems, and a 3+ year track record in design.

Qualifications

• Active Florida Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
• Background in electrical engineering and commercial building systems.
• 3+ years of electrical engineering or building electrical design experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical power distribution systems for commercial buildings.
• Work with switchgear, emergency generators, fire alarm systems, and other essential building electrical infrastructure.
• Participate in building assessments, electrical evaluations, and recertification projects.
• Apply engineering expertise to electrical repairs, system improvements, and modernization projects.
• Support photometric studies, lighting calculations, and thermographic assessments.
• Prepare electrical drawings, technical specifications, and bid documents.
• Coordinate with structural, mechanical, and civil engineers to deliver integrated solutions.
• Ensure designs meet codes, safety standards, and project requirements.
