Job summary

ARBOC engineers in Indiana are seeking a design engineer to develop vehicle components and assemblies. You will work with engineers to produce 3D CAD models, create drawings, and support production from concept through release.

Expect collaboration with vendors and cross‑functional teams to ensure designs meet spec and manufacturability. The role emphasizes adherence to schedules, documentation, and timely ECN releases, while providing design support across departments.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of vehicle design experience preferred.
• SolidWorks or equivalent 3D CAD software experience.
• Zuken Wire Harness Design experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Complete engineering design tasks supporting production activities.
• Coordinate own tasks to meet schedule and vendor/production lead times.
• Create engineering designs that meet customer specs and manufacturing capabilities.
• Develop drawing packages and layouts to meet design criteria.
• Assist engineers with testing of components and installations for reliability and fit.
• Complete technical drawings and ECN releases as per procedures.
• Provide engineering support to production, QA, customer service and other departments.
• Interacts with vendors and customers on design-related issues.

Job description

• Complete Engineering design tasks and projects assignments which support production activities.


• Coordinates own tasks to ensure schedule and dates are met considering vendor and production lead times. Includes maintaining task status and recording time speed on each task.


• Creates Engineering designs that meet customer specifications, Technical Summaries, other contracts documents and ensure designs are within manufacturing abilities.


• Works with engineers to develop drawing packages and layouts to ensure compliance with design criteria.


• Assist engineers with completion of and or initiates-controlled testing of components and installations to meet contractual obligations, ensure product reliability and verify component fit.


• Completes Technical Engineering drawings and release documents in accordance with Engineering procedures and ECNs – Engineering Change Notices.


• Provide Engineering support to Production, Quality Assurance, Customer Service Support, and other departments as needed.


• Interacts with vendors and customers on design related issues. Ensures that, where applicable, there are documents of vendor approval on new installations or applications.


• Check Engineering documents as authorized by Engineering Manager.


• Any other duties as necessary

Education

Intermediate Engineer – Engineering College Graduate.

Minimum 2 to 5 years of vehicle design experience – preferred.

Experience/Knowledge

• SolidWorks or equivalent 3D CAD modeling software


• Zuken Wire Harness Design is a plus
