Job summary

Hammond & Associates, an established MEP consulting engineering firm, seeks an Electrical Design Engineer 2 in the Orlando area. You will contribute to building systems design with a focus on electrical engineering, Revit, and AutoCAD.

Candidates should have a minimum of three years of experience and the ability to support a fast-paced department. The role requires strong communication with clients, adherence to NEC and industry standards, and collaboration with other trades.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in Building Systems Design (MEP) with verifiable work aligned to U.S. standards.
• Strong understanding of the electrical engineering discipline and ability to support a fast-paced department.
• Working knowledge of Revit (preferred) and AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Kick-off meetings with design team, clients and owner to develop a scope of work for projects.
• Site visits to determine existing conditions and document all associated systems.
• Conveying information required for submissions on design deliverables.
• Layout, sizing and specifying required equipment.
• Produce load calculations for electrical systems.
• Attend meetings and communicate with clients to discuss designs and issues.
• Coordinate and interact with other trades.
• Meet all deadlines as assigned.
• Collaborate with other designers, engineers and project managers.

Job Summary

We are looking for an Electrical Design Engineer 2 position with a minimum of 3 years experience in Building Systems Design (MEP). A candidate will only be considered for a position that has experience in this field. Experience must be verifiable and aligned with U.S. industry standards, including familiarity with applicable codes (NEC), regulations, and project delivery expectations. The ideal candidate will be expected to immediately step in to assist and provide support for all design aspects of assigned jobs. The candidate shall show a strong understanding of the electrical engineering discipline and have the ability to provide immediate support for a fast paced department. Candidate must have working knowledge of Revit (preferred), MEP Building System Design and/or AutoCAD.
