Job summary

CPH in Orlando, FL is seeking a Senior Electrical Designer to join our MEP team. You will design and draft electrical systems for commercial, government, restaurant, industrial, retail centers, and more, coordinating with other disciplines to meet schedule and budget.

The ideal candidate has strong communication, is self-motivated, and has at least 5 years of electrical design experience; proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit; knowledge of NEC, NFPA, IEEE; and field survey capabilities.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or related field; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical design, preferably within a consulting or design firm.
• Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD and Revit for electrical design.
• Strong knowledge of NEC, NFPA, and IEEE standards.
• Experience with power distribution, lighting design, fire alarm, and low voltage systems.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with project teams to develop electrical design concepts including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low voltage systems.
• Create detailed electrical drawings, schematics, and layouts using industry-standard software and design tools.
• Perform calculations for load sizing, voltage drop, circuit protection, and energy efficiency per codes.
• Coordinate with other disciplines, architects, and clients to integrate electrical systems into project designs.
• Conduct field surveys to gather information about existing electrical systems and infrastructure.
• Review electrical specifications, equipment submittals, and shop drawings for compliance with project requirements.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior designers to ensure accuracy and quality.
• Stay updated with advancements in electrical design technologies, codes, and regulations.

The Senior Electrical Designer will design and draft electrical engineering systems for a variety of project types including commercial, government, restaurant, industrial, retail centers, office buildings, site/street lighting, and lift stations. Assist on multiple projects simultaneously and coordinate with other engineering disciplines to complete tasks on schedule and on budget. Ideal candidate is self-motivated and works effectively in a team or individual situations. Must have excellent communication skills and able to prioritize work activities.

Duties Include

Requirements
