Job summary

SJE, a family of brands, is seeking a Design Engineer for its Altronex brand in Madison, WI. You will design large engineered panels using AutoCAD Electrical, interpret specifications to build control panels for water and wastewater applications, and prepare bills of materials and manufacturing documents.

You will work with Operations, Sales, and external customers to gather information and ensure accurate designs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering or a 2-year degree with related experience.
• 1–2 years of design experience, or 3–5 years with a 2-year degree.
• Proficient in AutoCAD Electrical for schematics and panel design.
• Familiarity with UL 508/698A standards.

Responsibilities

• Design large engineered panels using AutoCAD Electrical.
• Review specifications and create BOMs and manufacturing docs.
• Collaborate with Operations, Sales, and customers to gather information.

The job:

As our Design Engineer, your primary role will be to design large engineered panels using AutoCAD Electrical, review/interpret specifications to build products used for water and wastewater applications and create bills of materials and documentation for the manufacturing of control panels. You will also work in close cooperation with Operation Coordinators, Sales, and external customers to ensure understanding and to obtain required information.

The skills you need:

To succeed in this role, you must have experience with:

• Designing industrial controls
• Creating schematics using AutoCAD Electrical
• UL508/698A standards and application

A 4-year degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent degree and 1-2 years of experience or a 2-year degree with 3-5 years of experience are required.
