Job summary

DBR Inc. in Houston seeks an Electrical Design Director to lead and mentor the design team, oversee execution of complex electrical systems, and uphold project standards.

You will guide technical design work, review schematics, and ensure compliance with industry practices across multiple projects. Collaborating with Practice Area Leaders, you will engage clients, participate in industry activities and present design strategies at conferences.

Qualifications

• Must be a Licensed Engineer (PE).
• Experience leading designers and mentoring staff.
• Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD; BIM drafting knowledge.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Willingness to travel to other offices at least once per year.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering design activities and supervise junior designers.
• Provide technical leadership and maintain design standards.
• Coordinate with Project Managers on scope, complexity, and scheduling.
• Serve on Quality Control team and review project designs.
• Represent the firm in professional organizations and client presentations.
• Develop and deliver staff training and mentoring.
• Travel to other office locations at least annually.
• Maintain organized work area and support project deadlines.
