Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in drafting technology or related field with 2+ years of experience, or Associate degree with 3+ years.
• 4 years of progressive detailing and design experience.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, MicroStation and Excel to develop design deliverables.
• Ability to use 2D and 3D design tools to prepare engineering drawings.
• Understanding of engineering design theory and discipline fundamentals.
• Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams to resolve design issues.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assist in designing electrical project designs including schematics, grid layouts, power systems, lighting, protection and controls.
• Set up electrical CAD configuration and procedures per project requirements.
• Prepare engineering drawings from rough sketches or notes using CAD software.
• Produce a full range of drawings with design layouts, calculations and non-routine tasks.
• Follow prescribed methods and techniques for drawing sequences and component sizing.
• Assist with initial rough designs, redlines, and mark-ups on ongoing projects.
• Analyze reports, drawings and tests to plan and design projects.
• Apply design codes and specifications to meet design requirements.
• Complete and review design drawings within budget and schedule.
• Incorporate budgets, schedules and project criteria into electrical design and layouts.
• Organize and maintain revisions of project drawings and files.
• Perform other duties as assigned and comply with policies.
