Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in Kansas City is seeking an Assistant Electrical Engineer to support project teams in creating world class designs for power, process, healthcare, airports, industrial and government facilities.

You will work with the project team through design and construction, adapting electrical plans to budget, design factors or client needs while supporting senior engineers with drawings, CAD tasks and data collection.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field from an accredited program.
• ABET accreditation strongly preferred.
• Internship or related consulting experience preferred.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
• EIT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists in electrical design from conceptual phase through design completion.
• Assists with modifying and reviewing production drawings across various facilities.
• Assists in designing electrical components per project needs and requirements.
• Applies basic knowledge of electrical engineering concepts, practices, codes, and procedures.
• Assists with research and compiles project-related data for managers.
• Assists with updating drawings using CAD software.
• Supports client presentations, shop drawing reviews, and contract administration.
• Performs field inspections, measurements or calculations for clients.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
