Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Coordinator in Utah to lead engineering efforts for Telecommunications and Physical Security projects.

You will develop construction documents in REVIT and AutoCAD, review designs, and coordinate with owners and other disciplines to meet all requirements. Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor's in Electrical or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis, strong communication skills, and proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, SKM, AGI and Easy Power.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Architectural Engineering with an electrical emphasis required.
• Experience with electrical design and coordination for building systems preferred.
• Familiarity with REVIT, AutoCAD, and design documentation.
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
• Ability to manage multiple design tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead design discussions with engineers and clients to deliver electrical and technology solutions.
• Produce construction documents in REVIT and AutoCAD, and other tools.
• Review drawings for conflicts across disciplines and advise on resolutions.
• Coordinate with architectural staff and other disciplines on projects.
• Support contract administration and field inspections as needed.

Overview

Due to continued growth, HDR has immediate openings for Electrical Coordinator to join our team. In this dynamic role, you’ll forge powerful relationships with both internal teams and external clients, especially in the cutting-edge field of Telecommunications and Physical Security, while leading engineering efforts to deliver innovative solutions. You’ll drive project success by solving complex technical challenges, ensuring top-quality results, and guiding your team to exceed customer expectations.

Primary Responsibilities

Imagine a day when you’re at the forefront of collaboration, working with engineering teams and clients to deliver cutting-edge solutions in Telecommunications and Physical Security. You will lead technical discussions, resolve challenges, and ensure designs meet all requirements. Your guidance keeps projects on track while you research improvements, propose innovations, and provide key updates to the team - making a real impact and strengthening vital relationships every step of the way.

• Work under the direction of senior designers to produce construction documents in REVIT, AutoCAD, and other production tools.
• Perform assignments exercising judgment in evaluation, selection and modification of electrical and technology engineering techniques and procedures
• Work directly with owners to develop recommendations
• Review technology documents for areas of conflict with all disciplines
• Write/edit technology specifications, select equipment and technology devices
• Take on contract administration responsibilities requiring field inspections and conflict resolution
• Coordinate design of assigned projects with architectural staff and other engineering disciplines as needed
• Perform other duties as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate. Candidates hired without their EIT will have the title of "Coordinator" and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression.
• Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm
• Familiarity with Microsoft suite of programs.
• Familiarity with Bluebeam REVU
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written).
• Ability to work in a high-velocity environment managing multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail and workmanship quality.
• Ability to meet deadlines, handle multiple tasks independently, and keep a daily schedule of activities.
• Familiarity with engineering drawings.
• Strong desire for continuous learning.
• Selected applicant may be subject to periodic government background checks when required by client.

• Strong computer skills using AutoCAD and Microsoft Office, Revit, SKM, AGI and Easy Power
