Job summary

HDR, Inc. in Salt Lake City, UT is seeking an Electrical Coordinator to join our building engineering team.

You will lead design discussions, produce construction documents using REVIT, AutoCAD, and related tools, and coordinate across disciplines to ensure code compliance and project success. You will work with owners and engineers to develop recommendations, review tech documents, write specifications, and support contract administration through field inspections and issue resolution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis.
• Desire to pursue growth opportunities and obtain registration.
• Strong computer skills using AutoCAD and Microsoft Office, Revit, SKM, AGI and Easy Power.

Responsibilities

• Work under the direction of senior designers to produce construction documents in REVIT, AutoCAD, and other production tools.
• Perform assignments exercising judgment in evaluation, selection and modification of electrical and technology engineering techniques and procedures
• Work directly with owners to develop recommendations
• Review technology documents for areas of conflict with all disciplines
• Write/edit technology specifications, select equipment and technology devices
• Take on contract administration responsibilities requiring field inspections and conflict resolution
• Coordinate design of assigned projects with architectural staff and other engineering disciplines as needed
• Perform other duties as needed.

You'll drive project success by solving complex technical challenges, ensuring top-quality results, and guiding your team to exceed customer expectations.

Primary Responsibilities

You will lead technical discussions, resolve challenges, and ensure designs meet all requirements. Your guidance keeps projects on track while you research improvements, propose innovations, and provide key updates to the team - making a real impact and strengthening vital relationships every step of the way.

In the role of Electrical Coordinator, we'll count on you to:

• Work under the direction of senior designers to produce construction documents in REVIT, AutoCAD, and other production tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate. Candidates hired without their EIT will have the title of "Coordinator" and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression.
• Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm
• Familiarity with Microsoft suite of programs.
• Familiarity with Bluepaper REVU
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written).
• Ability to work in a high‑velocity environment managing multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail and workmanship quality.
• Ability to meet deadlines, handle multiple tasks independently, and keep a daily schedule of activities.
• Familiarity with engineering drawings.
• Strong desire for continuous learning.
• Selected applicant may be subject to periodic government background checks when required by client.
