As an Electrical Controls Technician, you will maintain and optimize control systems for our roller coasters and park attractions, focusing on safety, performance, and reliability. Your role will include but is not limited to, PLC programming, troubleshooting, and collaboration with various teams to ensure top-notch operational standards for our guests.
Associate degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Technology, or a related field required.
Requires relevant experience in PLC programming, troubleshooting, and maintenance. Experience with amusement rides preferred.
Involves complex problem-solving, programming, and troubleshooting tasks to ensure the safe and reliable operation of control systems for high-performance amusement rides and attractions.
Works independently with minimal supervision; collaborates closely with engineering, safety, and maintenance teams to complete tasks.
Errors in programming or troubleshooting could directly impact guest and employee safety. Strict adherence to safety protocols is critical to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with safety standards.
Frequent interaction with team members across departments, including maintenance, engineering, and safety teams; occasional communication with park leadership regarding system performance and reliability.
Maintains confidentiality of technical schematics, programming codes, and diagnostic reports, adhering to company policy for proprietary and safety-sensitive information.
Requires sharp visual acuity for reading schematics and assessing equipment; high mental focus for troubleshooting and solving complex control system issues, often under time constraints.
Must be able to stand, walk, and move throughout the park for extended periods. Regular climbing, bending, crouching, and crawling are required to access and inspect roller coaster components and control panels. Must lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly, and up to 75 pounds occasionally. High degree of manual dexterity needed for handling tools and controls.
Primarily outdoor work with exposure to various weather conditions, including high temperatures, rain, and wind. Must be comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, and around moving machinery and loud noises.
