Job Summary

Electrical & Instrument technicians are responsible for installing, repairing, maintaining, and calibrating electronic equipment and gauges that control, regulate, and/or monitor mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities

1. Read blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, isometric drawings, engineering instructions, and manufacturer instructions.
2. Install, repair, maintain, and calibrate electronic equipment, controls, and measuring devices.
3. Test and analyze electronic and measuring equipment for accuracy and functionality.
4. Have knowledge of motor starters, VFDs, PLCs, troubleshooting, schematics, and diagrams of machinery.
5. Perform preventative maintenance or calibration of equipment or systems.
6. Complete reports on tests, repairs, and installations.
7. Ensure compliance with NFPA 70E standards.

Education

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Experience

• 7+ years’ experience in instrumentation, analyzer, or electrical work.
• Experience with Microsoft Office software.
• All journeymen tools and experience with power tools required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Familiarity with DCS operations for troubleshooting.
• Ability to read blueprints and work with low/high-pressure tubing and measurement devices.
• Proficiency in programming and wiring panels, especially Siemens and Allen Bradley PLCs.
• Ability to interpret drawings, blueprints, and documentation.
• Work safely at heights and in various outdoor conditions, wearing PPE as required.

Work Location and Travel

• Located at 2730 Mine and Mill Road, Lakeland, FL, with travel to other sites in Central Florida.

Work Environment

• Full-time with variable days/hours, including some overnight work and overtime.
• Safety-sensitive role requiring alertness in hazardous environments.
• Must pass drug screening, background checks, and physical assessments.

Physical Requirements

• Effective communication, standing, walking, handling tools, climbing, and working in various environmental conditions.
• Must be able to lift and carry equipment and work at heights up to 300'.
